RAGBRAI 50th is off to a challenging start. BIG ridership numbers, some hills and heat - its officially on!
We got out of camp kinda early in hopes of beating the heat that first 27 miles to Kingsley was challenging for sure. Excitement was in the air and that air quickly became thick with humidity.
In this video I wanted to get the feel of what it's like to get out there with tons of people, the chatter, the sounds of the small towns. Then the calmness of hearing just the sounds of tires, chains and wind.
After Kingsley but before Washta, my bike was ghost shifting, which means it was just deciding on its own. Usually at the worst possible time to fall into a harder gear. GOOD TIMES!
So for the first time in my RAGBRAI experience I had to use the SAG service. It was pretty good, considering all the folks that were waiting in line to get picked up.
Decided to mix up the format for these days, by including the RELIVE video made from my Garmin GPS info. Kinda gives you a cool overview of the day with some photos thrown in. Let me know in the comments if you like seeing the overview.
