🟣 Equal pay in the Civil Service🟣
In 1936, the government won the vote to introduce equal pay to the Civil Service after various women’s rights groups lobbied for the change in the early 1930s, among them The Six Point Group who lobbied for six changes:
1. Amelioration of the law in the matter of child assault.
2. Pensions for widows with young children.
3. Adequate legal and financial protection for the children of unmarried parents.
4. Equal guardianship of infants.
5. Equal pay for men and women teachers.
6. Equal opportunities for men and women in the civil service.
