Effective December 30th, 2023, all Motor Vehicle services in the state of Kentucky will be temporarily suspended (in-person and online) as we transition to our new vehicle information system, KAVIS.

*To provide added flexibility and support during this period, we will be waving all interest and penalties for December renewals through the end of January.

Key Dates:
12/29/2023: Last day to complete a transaction through the Motor Vehicles Department.
01/01/24-01/02/24: Both branches will be CLOSED for the holidays.
01/03/24: The Richmond Branch will resume services (excluding Motor Vehicles). Berea Branch-CLOSED.
01/04/24: Both branches will be CLOSED for a day of team building.
01/05/25: The Richmond Branch will resume services (excluding Motor Vehicles). Berea Branch-CLOSED.
01/08/24: Both branches will resume services (including Motor Vehicles).

NOTE: Completed paperwork may be dropped off with a check to our Motor Vehicles Department at the Richmond Branch on January 3rd and 5th. The paperwork will be processed upon our system launch.
