Pentalogy of Cantrell | Gastroschisis | Ectopia Cordis || Ultrasound || Anomaly || Case 289
Clinical Features:
A young female patient came with 6 months of amenorrhoea.
Ultrasound Features:
- Fetal lower thoracic & anterior abdominal wall defects with sternal & diaphragmatic defects.
- Heart, liver & bowel loops are seen outside the thoracoabdominal cavity.
- Small defect in the fetal interventricular septum.
- An echogenic linear band is attached to the anterior cardiac wall.
- Spinal kyphosis with hemivertebra/ blocked vertebra at lower dorsal spine.
- Urinary bladder, upper & lower limbs & face appear normal.
Remember:
- If you find ectopia cordis with omphalocele or gastroschisis, try to search for other findings to prove it as a case of Pentalogy of Cantrell.
