By 1996, Puff Johnson would sign with record label The Work Group and her debut album titled Miracle dropped soon after. The eclectic project borrowed from an assortment of genres including contemporary R&B, pop, jazz, fusion and G-funk. Puff, herself, co-wrote 7 of the 12 tracks and also elicited the help of numerous producers and songwriters including Jermaine Dupri, American Idol’s Randy Jackson, and long-time Mariah Carey collaborator Walter Afanasieff.
