Unfortunately, many of them turn out to be unsatisfactory for a number of reasons, and consequently end up in closets or attics. In order to head off this recurring problem, Freddy will discuss the various features considered desirable in a beginner’s telescope, as well as certain flaws to be avoided. Presented at the December 7, 2018 Memphis Astronomical Society meeting.
