Families have spoken out about concerns their children are being indoctrinated by Chinese textbooks at community language schools in Australia.
The claims come as Sky News can reveal the extent of Chinese government control over what’s taught in the taxpayer-subsidised campuses.
Sky News has obtained pages from the textbooks, which include references to the South China Sea belonging to China, depictions of the Chinese government as democratic and credits and division of the CCP as the books’ producer and party officials as editors.
“They’re smuggling so many ideologies into the book,” mother Emily Sun said.
Sky News understands the Victorian Education Department recently took the step of writing to the principals of all Chinese community language schools to remind them funding must not be used for political programs and request they review their teaching resources.
