Mudumalai Tiger Reserve is a protected area located in the Nilgiri Hills of southern India, situated on the border between the Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala. It is part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve and is one of the oldest wildlife sanctuaries in India, established in 1940 as the Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary and later designated a tiger reserve in 2007 under the Project Tiger initiative.
