Harmony/Overview: This composition is a straight ahead Major blues. It is one of Parker's many cherished blues heads that has earned its place in the standard repertoire, and it contains a wealth of musical language throughout.
Recordings: This song has been recorded over 100 times. Charlie Parker first recorded it himself on a session for Verve Records on January 17, 1951. It has since then been recorded by many of the greats, from the likes of Hank Mobley, Cannonball Adderley, Sonny Stitt, and James Moody to name a few. It continues to be performed frequently to this day.
