In this part of Scripture, the Apostle Paul informs the people of Athens something that every believer should: God can be known. Through His Son Jesus Christ, we have been allowed to not only know about Him but also to know Him personally, as our Father in Heaven.
The people of Athens had an altar with the inscription, "TO THE UNKNOWN GOD."
The God we serve is not distant from us or unreliable. "In Him, we live and breathe and have our being..." He made every person from one blood and holds all things together. THE KNOWN GOD is not contained in buildings or made by human hands.
This God, that Scripture has revealed, is to be worshipped.
Acts 17:27
"so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;"
