The Winx Club is known for it's vibrant colours, cute outfits, and glitter. Why take everything that makes it unique away in the live action? While the costume design and fashion choices are... not good. Fate the Winx Saga is also a great example of where a lack of colour just doesn't work. Bloom looses her signature blue outfit, Aisha/Layla no longer has her iconic green style. Stranger Things, Euphoria, and Spring Breakers are all colourful examples with darker stories. Creating a "dark" show doesn't mean it has to be devoid of colour and creativity.
