Hi guys. Since June 2020, JR no longer issue the JR pass (nationwide) in A5 size. Instead, the pass now is issue as an regular train ticket. You can use this ticket size JR pass to reserve seat using the ticket vending machine. This video shows the step by step how to use the ticket size JR pass to reserve the Shinkansen and Limited express "Thunderbird" seats. Alternatively, you may proceed to the JR ticket office (Midori-no-madoguchi) to reserve the seat.
