NEW YORK CITY (WPMI) Emergency officials Wednesday morning were on the scene of a building collapse in New York City. Law enforcement sources say a gas explosion may be to blame for bringing down parts of two buildings in Manhattan's East Harlem.

One death has been confirmed and the number of injured keeps growing. The latest count as of 11 a.m. Wednesday was 16.

As of Wednesday morning, this is not suspected to have any terrorist connection.

More than 160 firefighters were called to assist.
