In this video I explain how Reverse Osmosis units work and their uses in an aquarium.
Using reverse osmosis water in an aquarium has quite a few advantages over tap water. Mainly it is due to the fact that the RO water will be pure and not full of contaminants such as nitrate, phosphate, chlorine and silicates. This is good because it starts your aquarium water at a base level that you can then buffer to your needs depending of the fish you are keeping. It is especially good for saltwater marine aquariums as corals do not like high nitrates and phosphate in the water.
