Ruth Bader Ginsburg is an icon of gender and women’s rights. For the majority of her groundbreaking legal career, she advocated for gender equality and women’s rights and won many cases and arguments before the Supreme Court.
She then became the first Jewish woman and the second woman in history to actually serve on the Supreme Court. She wrote notable majority opinions in landmark cases that influenced the progress of gender equality, discrimination against people with mental disabilities, and environmental and Native American rights, among others.
She had to break down a lot of discriminatory and archaic laws and practices, but her trailblazing life and career have been nothing short of inspirational.
