Another in my series of 'off the beaten track' landscape photography locations. This time, a deserted spot by a picturesque lake in a valley adjacent to Ogwen, one of the busiest Snowdonia locations at one of the busiest times of year!.
I'm wild camping with no one else in sight. My location was in Cwm Eigiau, in the north eastern part of Carneddau mountain range.
I set up to photograph sunset and sunrise the next morning. It doesn't all go quite to plan as you'll see, but the solitude and scenery more than make up for that!
The location is easy to find and reach, being only about 3/4 of a mile from a trail head car park above Dolgarrog & Tal y Bont in the Conwy Valley.
I also share the tragic story of the 1925 Dolgarrog Dam disaster.
My budget equipment ...
Camera: Nikon D5500
Lenses: Nikkor 18 - 140mm, Tokina 11 - 16mm ATX Pro, Sigma 70 - 300mm.
Filmed on Hawkeye Firefly 8S, with external lavalier mic and DJI Spark drone.
