July 20, 2017, members of the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, Special Tactical Operations (STOP) Team, and uniformed troopers assigned to Troop H assisted the Framingham Police Department with the apprehension of a suspect who had allegedly been involved in a domestic assault on Whitting Road and had fired shots at responding officers before taking up a position on the roof of a business establishment located at 847 Edgehill Road in Framingham.

The MSP helicopter crew spotted the suspect on the roof and provided key intelligence while MSP STOP Team negotiator Lieutenant Richard Ridlon eventually convinced the suspect to peacefully surrender. A great cooperative effort which resulted in a successful conclusion to a volatile situation.
