About the Seminar
The speaker will discuss EPFL's Venice Time Machine project. This is an international scientific project launched by the EPFL and the University Ca'Foscari of Venice, in partnership with Archivio di Stato in Venice, with the generous support of Fondation Lombard Odier. The project aims to: Build a multidimensional model of Venice and its evolution over more than a 1,000 years ; Create a large open access database for research & education from over 80 kilometers of shelves of archival documents (digitized, transcribed & indexed)
