Federal NDP leader Jagmeet Singh was in Winnipeg today to attend a short rally for his candidate in the Elmwood-Transcona byelection.
Singh appeared with Leila Dance in Transcona's Peguis neighbourhood.
In the 2021 general election, the NDP won Elmwood-Transcona by more than nine thousand votes.
Yet the pressure is on to win this byelection before the next general election, when the riding boundaries will shift east to incorporate more Conservative, rural neighbourhoods.
