Union minister of state for Railways Rajen Gohain on Friday triggered controversy by saying that out of the total 40 lakh people who were excluded from the final draft of the NRC, 30 lakh people are Hindus.
The union minister also slammed 'so-called' social organisations for their role in this regard maintaining that several Hindus were left out in many constituencies of the state.
