Map-based questions have been frequently asked in UPSC, IAS, SSC CGL, CDS exams. These questions fall under the general knowledge category. In this video on a map of India, we will learn about the major iron ore mines that are located in India.
In India most of the iron ore is found in the Deccan Plateau which is the oldest land block in the Indian subcontinent. Deccan Plateau was part of Gondwanaland, and due to that it is rich in natural resources. Some of the major iron ore mines in India are found in the states of:- Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra.
