In the final of the 2019 World Championships, South Korea became world champions after beating Hungary 45-44. Immediately after the final, the referee was fired by reason of numerous mistakes during the match. However, Aron answered that he as a captain do not blame a referee in their lost. Because of this statement Aron Szilagyi, András Szatmári, Tamás Decsi, and Csanád Gémesi received the fair play award from Alisher Usmanov. In 2020 Aaron became president of the fencing department of his home club, Vasas SC in Budapest.
