Have you wondered what's the difference between colocasia and alocasia? So have I! Here, I give a quick way to know the difference and discuss the varieties that I have personal experience with. I absolutely love elephant ears even though they get a bad rap sometimes for being invasive, not all of them are! They work perfectly in a tropical setting and they come in many colors and textures.
**Edited to add: I have since learned the ones that I call "your everyday elephant ears" that I got from friends/family are actually Xanthosoma sagittifolium and can definitely be invasive in certain areas. They will fill up an area very quickly, which I'm fine with but just know that they do multiply easily.
