In the second part of our series, we show you how to install the timing chain on a Mercedes-Benz E-Class with engines M272 and M273. We'll start by removing the residue on the cylinder head, front cover, and cylinder head cover using a plastic wedge and sealant remover. Then we'll check if the camshafts on the other side are misaligned, install the camshafts, and tighten the bolts. We'll also place the camshaft adjuster in the basic position, fit the lubricated pulse wheel, and install the tensioning rail. Finally, we'll apply sealing compound along the contact surfaces on the cover and carry out a quick test at the Star Diagnosis.
