No, this isn't a joke. No, this isn't a lie. After playing the track for well over a year now, I have finally achieved the World Record on Coconut Mall!

Lap 1 - 11.696
This is the best lap 1 I've had (outside of Dolphin), so I'm super happy to have gotten it in a run. My first few entries were behind Braixen's Lap 1 (11.996), but after practicing the landing and recovery a little bit, I was able to improve. Unfortunately, I started my drift going into the last turn a bit too late, which resulted in me taking the turn way too wide, losing a decent chunk of time (probably around .100 seconds, if not possibly more). There's still a decent amount of time to save here, especially with a faster turnaround.

Lap 2 - 6.956
This lap was okay. I wiggled in my wheelie a little bit, which I blame for this not being a 6.8. After seeing that it was a fast spindrift going into the lap, all I was thinking was that I needed to get a lap count going into lap 3. It didn't need to be fast, it just needed to work. This would be enough for World Record.

Lap 3 - 6.153
ANOTHER FAST SPINDRIFT. At this point, my brain has become completely incapable of generating thoughts. I just wanted to cross the finish line to see if it would count. It did, and that's why we're here right now.

This is all so surreal to me. I initially planned on taking a break to pursue other categories after getting the 31, but not long after setting it (maybe a week or two?), Braixen was streaming on Twitch, playing DS Desert Hills, and he said something about how he was going to improve his CM record in the beginning of next year. Having this track still very fresh in my mind, I realized that I'd have until next year to go for World Record before he optimizes it any further. I started going for the new entry off stream, just to see how hard it would be.

After a couple of days, I got my first clip high enough to hit the front of the mall. It didn't enter, though I didn't expect it to, given how small the horizontal wall is. I kept playing, and on my third mall hit, I GOT THE ENTRY. I was totally shocked, so I completely messed it up; I didn't know how to do the turnaround, I didn't get good spindrifts... everything went wrong, and it wound up being a 1:21. I didn't even really mind that I failed a potential WR, being so excited about making the entry in the first place. I thought this was a fluke, but low and behold, a few days later, a SECOND entry. I felt sure they were all flukes until the fourth entry, and at this point, I was fully locked in on CM again.

I randomly thought to switch to Birdo for a session for old time's sake, and when I realized that my lap 2 and 3 splits weren't even much slower than they were with Daisy, I decided to stick with Birdo. Each entry that went to waste was just motivation to keep playing, so when this one happened, I was prepared for it to fail. I'm extremely happy to show that this one, entry #7, didn't fail, resulting in the first Birdo World Record in Mario Kart Wii history!

The ironic thing is that I actually really didn't like the new entry when it was discovered. I thought it looked way too hard and it would make it even more unlikely that Birdo would get a WR. And yet, here we are- I definitely wouldn't have been able to get this without the entry, so I'm super glad that Epik found it.

I really don't know what else to say. Maybe I'll update this later if I think of anything else. I'm still in shock, nearly 4 hours later.
