1st SAMUEL
This book is the historical account of the Kingdom
recorded by Israel’s beloved prophet Samuel;  
in it we see how Israel went from a Theocracy to a monarchy.  
The bulk of narrative focuses on two men that Samuel loved, Saul and David,  
one ruled by the flesh one by the Spirit.  
From Samuel’s mother‘s prayer of dedication to the anointing of David as king,
1st Samuel gives us the foundations for Israel’s ultimate King,
our Lord Jesus, the rightful heir to the Throne of David.  
Jesus Christ is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords: The Lion of The Tribe of Judah.  

The key verse is:
 “Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice… ” 
(1 Sam. 15:22)
