Today's tennis backhand tip is about a subtle but very powerful tip with your footwork.
If you're aware of this tennis backhand tip, you'll notice the pros doing this a lot.
This giant secret is shuffling first on your first move to the ball.
I know this tennis backhand tip might blow your mind!!!
Next time you are out on the court, I challenge you to see if you shuffle first or turn and run to your backhand side.
The reason I teach shuffling first on some backhands, instead of turning and running, is that it keeps you facing the net longer before you turn your shoulders. You can track the ball better this way.
Many players who do not know this tennis backhand tip turn immediately and almost always get too close to the ball while taking their racquet back to early.
Using the shuffle first not only allows you to face the ball longer, but will help you create more space on your backhand.
This is a most simple tennis backhand tip, but one of the most powerful that I teach on the tennis court.
I wish I would've known this while I was on the tour playing. I would have had a better backhand and better results.
I would have been able to create more space on my tennis backhand side.
Next time you are out on the court, try this tennis backhand tip and shuffle first on some backhands instead of turning and running to the ball.
