On Thursday, June 18, 2020, Kent State Stark celebrated the county's top high school athletes at the Best of Preps awards ceremony. Dean Denise Seachrist, Ph.D., took the virtual stage to present the Hometown Flash Award.
“We are pleased to present Leah Springer with the Hometown Flash Award,” said Dean Seachrist. “This Hometown Flash has done what it takes to excel on and off the court. Leah has balanced rigorous academics; earning college credits through our College Credit Plus program, and is a proven leader in her hometown.”
At Marlington High School, Springer earned nine varsity letters across three sports and was selected captain of each team. In addition to her athletic accomplishments, she's excelled as a scholar in the classroom. And her work doesn't end there. In the community, she serves in her church's nursery and is a longtime volunteer for numerous local nonprofits.
