In US news and current events today, President Trump made several false claims in regards to coronavirus and COVID-19. Let's clear up the coronavirus myths:

- All travel from Europe to the U.S. will not be suspended. Trump’s Homeland Security Dept clarified that the new policy applies to ‘most foreign nationals,’ from 26 countries, and not to legal permanent citizens. This was done without any consultation with European officials.

- The WH Press Secretary clarified that this means 11:59 pm on Friday, and not what Trump said here.

- Anything coming from Europe to the U.S. is not what we are discussing. Trump took to Twitter to clarify ‘that trade will in no way be affected’ and that ‘the restriction stops people not goods.’

- Health insurers have not agreed to waive all co-payments for treatments. Instead, they agreed to waive co-payments for coronavirus testing, according to an AIHP spokesperson who spoke to Politico.

- A top U.S. official called U.S.’ testing capabilities a ‘failing’

- U.S. testing has been limited due to various missteps: The CDC originally distributed a faulty test, doctors are not receiving enough of the CDC’s new test, and tests are only being administered to those with symptoms. As of March 8, the CDC only performed 1,700 tests. The U.S. has diagnosed more than 1,000 cases of coronavirus.

- There is no such thing as a ‘foreign virus.’ Viruses do not have a nationality, and they do not discriminate.

- Trump went on to attack Nancy Pelosi & Chuck Schumer the next morning, tweeting about Pelosi’s opposition to his proposed tax cut, & retweeting a critique of Schumer’s comment on abortion rights cases.
