1 - Chop the tip of the stem (cook and eat the inner core of the stem; it tastes like the heart), pull the extra leaves around the artichoke, and cut the prickly tip of the leaves.
2- Steam with water, salt, and lemon juice in a pot or rice cooker for about 30 minutes.
3- You can also slice through the middle of the artichoke and remove the fuzzy part with a spoon.
4- It pairs great with mustard (even a blend of yellow and Dijon mustard)! Your kids will also love to pull and dip artichoke!
