One "Cracking Little engine" on a cracking sunny day in Derbyshire. What a shine the EVR volunteers put on the OBS coach!
This Midland Railway "Branch" MAY have become the "main line" from Derby to Manchester, had certain agreements NOT been made -which allowed the triangular junction at Ambergate, and an easier (sic ! ) construction of the route along the Derwent and Wye valleys. There is clear evidence in the sheer scale of "Big Railway" structures visible.
