Rose Namajunas vs. Erin Blanchfield headlines UFC’s return to Edmonton
UFC will make its return to Edmonton, Canada, on November 2, with a high-stakes fight headlining the event at Rogers Place. The main event will feature a flyweight clash between Rose Namajunas and Erin Blanchfield, both of whom are looking to solidify their positions as top contenders in the division.
Namajunas, who has secured back-to-back wins after a loss to Manon Fiorot in her 125-pound debut, will face Blanchfield, a fighter widely regarded as a top contender prior to her recent defeat by Fiorot. The five-round bout is expected to play a pivotal role in determining the next title challenger in the flyweight division.
The co-main event will see heavyweight Derrick Lewis, UFC's all-time knockout leader, taking on Alexandr Romanov. Lewis is coming off a third-round knockout victory over Rodrigo Nascimento in May, while Romanov will be looking to bounce back from a submission loss to Jailton Almeida in June.
Other fights on the Edmonton card include a flyweight matchup between Ariane Da Silva and Canadian favorite Jasmine Jasudavicius, and a middleweight bout between Marc-Andre Barriault and Dustin Stoltzfus. Additionally, Canadian Jamey-Lyn Horth will face Ivana Petrovic, and recent The Ultimate Fighter finalist Cody Gibson will return to action against Chad Anheliger.
More bouts are expected to be announced in the lead-up to the event.
