(13 Apr 2017) Thousands of Jewish worshippers gathered to receive a priestly blessing at Jerusalem's Western Wall on Thursday during the Jewish holiday of Passover.
At the holiest place where Jews can pray, worshippers covered themselves with prayer shawls during the "Birkat Cohanim", or Cohen's blessing.
The ritual prayer is recited in Hebrew while the faithful cover their heads with prayer shawls, averting their eyes from those receiving the blessing.
The blessing is given on special occasions and is a ritual dating back to the time more than 2,500 years ago when King Solomon's Temple stood on the same site.
