(13 Nov 2016) Exit polls showed independent Socialists-backed candidate General Rumen Radev with a big lead in Bulgaria's runoff presidential election on Sunday.
Surveys by several polling organisations showed Radev, 53, a former non-partisan chief of Bulgarian Air Force, taking about 58 percent of the vote.
Speaking at a news conference in Sofia on Sunday, Radev said that "democracy" has "won over apathy and fear".
He said it was clear Bulgarians had "voted for a change".
