The 36th European Film Festival 2024 got record audience and concluded with a vibrant celebration at the Royal Film Commission, wrapping up two weeks of an exceptional cinematic journey through Europe and Jordan. With over 4,500 attendees, the festival fostered cultural exchange and dialogue through filmmaking.
During the closing ceremony, the European Union Ambassador to Jordan, Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas acknowledged the power of cinema to bring Europeans and Jordanians even closer together. He pointed to the dedicated event on Gaza: ‘It was important to pay tribute to all the innocent civilian victims of senseless wars. Demonizing brings war. But cinema can show humanity in action. European and Jordanian filmmakers bring compelling evidence that cinema can foster a culture of peace.’
