Welcome to the National Railway Museum in York, England’s largest train museum. It’s free to visit, though you are advised to book online at [ Ссылка ]
The museum is housed in two old engine sheds near York train station. One houses mostly engines, the other rolling stock (carriages). At the time of publication (April 2023), one of the sheds is closed for restoration, though there is still so much available to view. Wander around the trains and see a replica of the Rocket, one of the world’s first locomotive engines, many old British train engines from the 1920s to the present, and a few international examples from Japan, China and others. We even get to take a stroll underneath an engine!
Then it’s on to the the North Shed, which is a huge stash of train related artefacts - models, signs, chairs, pottery, a horse(yep), and a statue of Richard Trevithick, inventor of the world’s first steam locomotive engine. It’s a sort of Room of Requirements for train fans.
Please enjoy and share. Thank you for watching.
