The Maryvale Village is a community of 175,000 residents in west Phoenix, Arizona. In the 1980's the community faced an influx of gangs, graffiti, and blight. On the verge of becoming an urban slum Maryvale stood at a crossroads of practicing the status quo or reinventing the community. This 1999 film documents the efforts of neighborhood association Maryvale UNITE to win back their community. Produced by Dwight Amery, directed, written and edited by Chris Wooley.
