CROYLE TOWNSHIP, Cambria County, Pa. -- An entire family was taken to the hospital Friday morning after their home went up in flames.
The fire happened in the 600 block of Mill Road in Croyle Township.
Fortunately, most were not injured, but one man was taken to Pittsburgh for further treatment.
Investigators said the fire started inside the home while the family of seven was sleeping inside.
We're told the father, Joseph Logue, woke up and got everyone out before the entire house became consumed by the flames.
St. Michaels Fire Chief Paul Kundrod said the intense flames spread quickly through the house, and two of the family cars near the home.
It's not clear what caused the fire, but the six fire departments battling the blaze had a difficult time getting water due to the rural location of the home.
"This is a non-hydrated area, so there's no hydrants, so we had to lay a line to the nearest stream and we're using drafting operations now, so it took a little while to get water established," Kundrod said.
The home is considered a total loss, and the fire marshal has been called in to investigate.
In the meantime, the Red Cross has been called to help the family.
