Brian Bowen II elected to surpass college and play his postgraduate season in the National Basketball League in Australia for the Sydney Kings. Out of high school, he was named to the 2017 McDonalds High School-All American Game and the Jordan Brand Classic, where he earned MVP honors. While in Australia, Bowen II averaged 6.3 points and 3.2 rebounds per game with the Sydney Kings, shooting 45% from the field, 34% from beyond the arc and 76% at the free throw line. Bowen II also helped the Kings reach the NBL semifinals during his sole season in Australia. The former high school All-American is efficient with the ball in his hands and can score at a consistent clip at all three levels of the floor. Bowen II has above-average athleticism and uses it to find his way to the basket on the offensive end and create turnovers on the defensive end.
