This short illustrates my recreation of the original home made pickups Brian May fitted to his Red Special guitar before changing them to Burns Tri-Sonic pickups. Each one is made from Tufnol phenolic resin sheet, three Eclipse E821-RB button magnets with 0.7 kg pull and a white gloss acrylic (Perspex) top cover. They are wound with 4,000 turns of 44 AWG enamelled copper wire. The magnets are fixed to the base using 6BA brass machine screws and nuts. I designed a custom bobbin in CAD and 3D printed this using white ABS-like resin using my ELEGOO Mars 4 DLP 3D printer.
