Labor is currently in a commanding position over the Coalition according to the latest Newspoll figures.

In the latest Newspoll conducted for The Australian, the Coalition's primary vote rose by one per cent - to 35 per cent.

Labor's primary vote currently sits at 41 per cent.

Labor has also maintained its commanding lead on a two-party preferred basis.
