we get crazy winds in desert mtns where we live; this stand is extremely stable when filled with water. however...the umbrella attachment. there are moveable mounting rods which dont have “screws” as the company keeps saying, but rather “hex bolts.” my husband knew what they were & had the tools to move to the approriate holes for our umbrella. hes a strong guy, but it took both of us, and a lot of pounding with a mallet to get the job done (the metal rods are mounted at the factory by a high pressure machine...VERY hard to remove for repositioning
