The sheer size and scale of Ollantaytambo is overwhelming to behold. As you enter this archaeological site and begin to follow the stream along the ground level to the right side, you may get the feeling that something is watching you… Towering high above on the mountainous outcropping is a giant Condor – the ancient builders seem to have even shaped the mountain itself. This location is known as the “Temple of the Condor,” and as you look closer you can see the Condor head, beak, eye, neck and wing. Underneath the condor are what look like stairway & platform cutouts. At the bottom can be seen megalithic blocks.
