Accessible only by boat, Cayo Costa State Park is a pristine oasis of nature amongst the hustle and bustle of Florida's touristy beaches. A reprieve to the natural Florida landscape, truly.
With mangrove lined coasts, thick tropical hammock forests, paddling trails, sugar white sand, and turquoise blue water, what else could an explorer ask for? Snorkel off the beach to discover sand dollars and immaculately preserved shells or stumble upon a sea turtle nesting site!
We spent the day hiking, snorkeling, and of course, enjoying the Southwest Florida sunshine! Just be mindful of the time of year you go and pack PLENTY of bug spray and sunscreen!
