Week 2 of the XFL saw two teams the Chicago Enforcers vs LA Xtreme looking for their first victory of the season. The game went into double overtime with LA coming out on top after trailing most of the game.
The live telecast was interrupted by a power outage at the Coliseum before the game started which affected NBC from showing most of the first quarter. It was still daylight on the west coast so both teams kept playing. Viewers were routed to Orlando for the Demons vs Rage contest until the power came back on in LA which was right before the 1st quarter ended.
The overtime rules consisted of each team having a possession and four downs (no yardage) to get the ball into the end zone. Over 35,000 attended the LA Coliseum although some left before the end of the fourth quarter.
This was also the game where in the 3rd quarter Enforcers offensive tackle Octavious Bishop broke his leg in two places. He was taken on a stretcher into an ambulance. It would be the last time he would play football.
Jim Ross and Jesse Ventura were in the booth while Mike Adamle and Stephanie McMahon (yes Vince's daughter) handled on the field events. Stephanie was actually in front of a helicopter which was in the air at the time reporting that LA Xtreme backup QB Scott Milanovich's wife was days over due in giving birth. The chopper was there to take him to the nearest hospital so he wouldn't miss the birth of his child.
Many will argue this was THE greatest XFL game of the ENTIRE season.
