ECB 기준금리 인상속도 0.5%P로 완화 내년 3월부터 자산축소
The European Central Bank has raised its key interest rates by 50 basis points on Thursday, lifting its borrowing rates to 2-point-5 percent.
The latest rate hike is the fourth time the central bank raised its rates this year, and is on par with the recent rate hike by the U.S. Federal Reserve.
Despite the borrowing rates being far lower than in the U.S., the 2-point-5 percent rate is the highest for the eurozone since 2008.
With Europe seeing some of the highest inflation figures in the world, the head of the ECB hinted at more rate hikes in the future, to lower inflation to its target of 2-percent.
