This week we have to talk about the silent career killer, social media. How many times have you seen in the news that someone made a comment on a social media platform (like Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram), and within 2 weeks they are unemployed? They were fired or terminated from their employer for making a public spectacle of themselves and causing an issue at their work.
Social Media can help or hurt your employment opportunities, so if you plan to start looking for a new job, or are currently job hunting, it's time to ensure your social media is clean. Don't give your current or future employer a reason to pass on you as a candidate because you act like a fool on social media. It does happen. Every. Day.
