STORYLINE
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Airbus headquarters in Toulouse, southern France, on Saturday.
Modi's visit was part of a trans-Atlantic tour aimed at strengthening relations with India's western partners.
Following Modi's visit, Airbus announced that it was ready to manufacture helicopters, satellites and military transport planes in India.
In statement released on Saturday, Airbus Group Chief Executive Officer, Tom Enders, said the European planemaker was ready to begin manufacturing "in India, for India and the world", including final assembly lines and supply chains.
Modi's visit to France has also produced contracts in energy, transport and space exploration, and an announcement on Friday of plans in the works to buy 36 Rafale fighter jets.
Modi is expected to travel to Germany and Canada after Paris.
