Behringer Europower EPQ304
300 Watts 4 Channel Powered Amplifier
There is intentionally no audio, I wanted you to focus on the lights. The other lights are Bishop Washington preaching during Bible Study.
I have been running the sound system at my church for over 1 year. I rewired the system to accommodate both PA system and monitors for the Musicians/Choir. We purchased a Europower EPQ304 4 Channel Amp from B and H photo. The first channel was to power the monitor for the keyboardist, channel 2 was for the drummer, channel 3 was for the floor and 2nd podium area, channel 4 is to power the monitors on the pulpit. On a Friday the system was working properly with no issues. This was 7/22/206. On 7/24/2016 which is the following Sunday the Amp light on channel 2 is remaining on without a signal or even without anything plugged into any input or output. The VU meter is stuck with 2 bars out of 4. This amp peeks using Blue VU lights unlike other amps which uses amber or red peek indicators. When I noticed the amp was altered and changed on Sunday all of the channels on the amp went from 0 (off) to maxed out. I suspect that the amp may have overheated, blown or channel 2 blew during the 2 days that someone else altered the default settings. Its only ONE person who is over the audio system which includes 2 amps, 2 mixers, 4 monitors, 3 subs, 2 PA powered speakers. There is a delicate balance between each setting. No one should be authorized to change the settings on the mixer however everyone is welcomed to tamper with the system. Sense me and another member invested our money on the purchase of this amp neither one of us would intentionally do anything to damage this equipment. however, if he or I would damage this amp we would respectfully replace the equipment because we are responsible for taking care of Gods equipment when we use it. however, the person who blow the amp is not even aware that the amp is blown. the person who was responsible for all of the equipment for 2 days left the equipment ON overnight, this further proves that they did not care if the equipment overheats or malfunctions due to misuse. The good news is that even though the lights stays on no matter what you do.... the audio signal on channel 2 still works properly. So the only thing that is damaged is the VU meter not the audio signal, which would explain why the person who damaged the amp was not aware that the amp is damaged. I feel that a person should not be able to assume responsibility to change settings and to alter the volumes on a system that they have not been trained on. The person who damaged the equipment within the 2 days (friday and saturday) during their rehearsals will and can deny that they damaged the amp even though it is clear that the settings where changed during those days. the funny thing about this issue is that the person who damaged the amp said that they did NOT need the church's equipment but yet, they used it during rehearsals. if they wanted to TEST how their concert equipment sounded like ,why didnt they bring it and use it? I already knew that they would not provide their own microphones so they actually need to use the church house wireless PA system. it is also clear that they had the volume too loud and caused the amp to either overheat or caused the channel 2 to blow or malfunction. sense the audio still works, its like having a dent or scratch on your new car, it is only 4 months old. I have had equipment for over 10+ years that has NO flaws, not scratches no dents but one person touches the system and causes an immediate issue with the delicate system. This is the reason why I removed all of my personal equipment from the church during the rehersals and concert. I paid too much money for and on my equipment to allow someone who dont care to use or missuse my equipment. I cant find any Behringer Support to see why this happened and to understand how to fix it... at this point, I have reduced the overall input so the peek volumes on the amp will not go passed the Blue VU meter.
