When asked about whether the United States and Iran could go to war, Donald Trump said, “Anything can happen.” At multiple times, Trump has accused Iran of trying to assassinate him. During his first term, Trump deteriorated relations with Iran after ordering an airstrike to kill IRGC general Qasem Soleimani. Meanwhile, Iran has accused Trump of trying to destabilise the region.
